SAFETY & TOOL USE CERTIFICATION (STUC)

Best For: Former Students certifying for Open Studio Access for a new term

Safety & Tool Use Certifications (STUCs) are available to current Members who have completed an adult-level 5-week, 10-week, or equivalent Immersion Class at CIADC during a previous term.

What is the Safety & Tool Use Certification?
The quarterly STUC is the gateway for former Students to continue working during Open Studio Access (OSA). The STUCs serves as a general and Department-specific safety and policy refresher, and is an opportunity to introduce new shop tools, processes, etc. The STUC replaces the “face-time” of a Class.

STUC certification is by Department and must be renewed each term.

Who needs to complete a STUC?
Members who have previously completed a 5-week, 10-week, or equivalent Immersion Class in one or more Departments must complete the Department STUC(s) to use OSA in that/those Department Shops during a new term.

*NEW* Student Members: Members enrolled in any Class are automatically registered for the current term STUC(s).

Access Members: Register below only if all 3 are true:

  1. you are a current CIADC Annual or Monthly Member

  2. you have NOT ENROLLED in any 5-week, 10-week, or equivalent Immersion Department Class for the new term

  3. you are a former Student in one or more Departments and wish to use OSA in that/those Department Shop(s) during the new term

After registering, STUC packets for ALL qualifying Departments will be emailed for review. Each Department STUC is considered complete only after the Department STUC Quiz is returned.
