YOUTH PATHWAYS PROGRAM: GRADES 10-12
Best For: Any Youth in grades 10-12 looking to explore the design and manufacture of objects and gain career-related skills relating to STEM, Trade, and Art/Design careers, all in a safe, non-intimidating, and fun manner
The Chicago Industrial Arts & Design Center (CIADC) Youth Pathways Program is an educational series for grades 6-12 that exposes Students to hands-on, industrial arts and nurtures interests that can lead to post-secondary pathway opportunities in STEM, Trade, and Art/Design.

Learning industrial arts skills prepares for a wide variety of career paths. A few examples that connect directly with CIADC training are:
STEM Careers: Engineer, Manufacturing, CNC Programmer
Trade Careers: Machine Operator, Welder/Fabricator, Construction
Art/Design Careers: Product/Industrial Designer, Furniture Maker/Craftsperson, Sculptor
Youth Pathways Program: Grades 10-12
Recommended progression of classes through all 4 Departments at CIADC, exposing Students to the variety of real-world industrial manufacturing methods used by industry and creatives providing a robust set of experiences
New Students will work on assigned projects, honing tangible skills and gaining an understanding of process that can be applied to career choices in STEM, Trade, and Art/Design fields
Students awarded a CIADC Certificate of Completion at end of each Class

Create a unique object that brings separate materials together using real-world woodworking and metalworking processes. Design, assemble and finish wood and steel, all in one class!
